A clip of Emma D’Arcy and her onscreen frenemy Olivia Cooke discussing their go-to drinks went viral on TikTok last year when Emma smoothly uttered, “A negroni.. sbagliato.. with prosecco in it.”
Since then, everyone is drinking this cocktail.

What Is Negroni Sbagliato?
Negroni Sbagliato cocktail is a variation of the classic Negroni. To make a Negroni, you’ll need equal parts gin, vermouth and Campari. In this variation, however, the gin is replaced with prosecco.
Sbagliato is an Italian word that means ‘wrong’ or ‘mistaken’. A bar in Milan called Bar Basso claims to have invented this cocktail when the barman mistakenly put prosecco instead of gin when making a Negroni.
Negroni Sbagliato Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 jigger Sweet vermouth
- 1 jigger Campari
- 1 jigger Prosecco
- Orange slices
- Ice cubes
Directions
Fill a rocks glass with ice. Add the vermouth and Campari, then top with the prosecco. Stir in gently to combine. And garnish with orange slices.
